I can’t speak for the Chocolate Imperial Rye Porter (CHIRP) yet, but the cask-conditioned PEPPERMINT Chocolate Imperial Rye Porter at Arundel Mills last Firkin Friday was great! It was a refreshing change of pace! I’m looking forward to trying to straight up CHIRP. I’d really like to see the Peach Blonde that appeared during one of last year’s Firkin Fridays make another appearance! Keep it up guys.

Picked up a growler of it today to enjoy during the O’s season opener tonight. Can’t wait to try it!

The Imperial Porter is amazing! The rye really makes a difference in the taste– to me it’s a sharp contrast to the bitter finish of hops in most beers. It feels really silky in your mouth and who doesn’t love chocolate in a beer? And I’m not sure how you guys managed it, but there is a distinctive vanilla flavor in the beer. I can’t cook worth a damn, but I ‘d be willing to try to make a vanilla bean cheesecake with the Porter baked in the crust….

Loved the Imperial Porter! I’m not a huge fan of coffee, so all the porters that pair chocolate and coffee don’t do much for me. This is fantastic though. Smooth, flavorful and very drinkable. I’ll be filling up another growler shortly!

Imperial Rye Porter is amazing! I have been drinking your beers since day one. Bad Moon, Alchemy, Celtic and Naked Fish are my favorites (sense a dark beer theme here?) I can honestly say that I think the Rye Porter is by far the best beer you have ever produced. I have already had quite a few pints in Bel Air and taken a few growlers home. I’ll be sad to see it go…

Solid if not spectacular brew. I thought it smelled better (could really smell the chocolate) than it tasted. I always enjoy trying new beers and this was no exception, but it didn’t blow me away in that I wish I could have this brew year round.

Rob,
Thanks for the complement. Just an FYI, we are looking to release X-1 again, sometime next year. We are just not sure when, as it seems our next year release schedule is quite crowded.
Cheers!
